About Us

The Metro Mountain Bike Club is based in Sydney and it's a group of people that just like to get out and have fun on a bike !

The club is an organisation that allows like-minded mountain bikers to get together and go out on rides in and around Sydney. We have at least two organised rides scheduled every week.

There are rides every Saturday morning at either Loftus or Menai. Loftus is our beginners ride and it's duration and difficulty is tailored to the ability of the riders that show up. It's an excellent introduction to the sport of mountain biking. Menai is a more technical ride and is more suited to experienced riders.

When you come on one of our rides we ask that you bring:

  • Helmet. No helmet means no ride!!
  • Serviceable mountain bike, i.e. the brakes work, and that you have knobbly off road tyres.
  • Some water.

As we have a break after an hour or so you may want to bring along something to eat like a muesli bar, bananna or some jelly snakes.

Every Sunday we meet at different locations and times. The duration and difficulty of these rides varies from two to five hours on everything from fast single track to challenging technical terrain.

As well as these regular rides we schedule weekends away and help co-ordinate teams of riders for events such as 24-hour races and orienteering trials.

We strongly believe that wherever we ride, we take out whatever we bring in. Also, as a variation on the bushwalkers code, we take only photos and leave only tyre tracks.

See you on the trails !
